Equipment
Controlling traffic in a busy area like Cherry Hill Township is a dangerous task. We utilize many different types of equipment to accomplosh this task.
Vehicles
CHFP maintains a fleet of vehicles that serve as the primary response aparatus when we are called. These vehicles house most of our equipment and can pull specialized trailers and arrow signs. Our vehicles are serviced by the professional team at Cherry Hill Fire Department's Motor Maintenance Unit.

Here is one of our vans complete with a sampling of the equipment
carried and a flashing arrow board that can be towed to the scene.
1369 - "CRASH" Truck

The CRASH truck is named so because it is most often used to divert traffic from major
highways after serious traffic accidents. It has several special features that set it apart
from most other vehicles used by fire police agencies.
• Flat-bed design allows for dozens of large barrels and A-frame barricades to be easily transported.
• Locking storage box for flares and sensitive equipment storage.
• High-mount, permanently affixed turnable solar powered LED arrow board.
• 2 rotating high powered quartz flood lights for scene lighting.
• Lift gate allows officers to place cones while moving which speeds set-up and take down.
• Larger vehicle size helps drivers see it sooner.
1367 - Dodge Pickup

This is one of our primary response vehicles which carries primarily cones and flares.
It responds to all types of calls regardless of location. It is also equiped with a trailer
hitch so it can pull any of our flashing arrow or message boards.
1368 - Dodge Van

This is our other response vehicle which also carries cones and flares but includes other
equipment such as detour and road closed signage. We also carry a chainsaw for removing
light brush from roadways after storms.
1369a - Dodge Power Wagon

CHFP does not engage in firefighting activites, this vehicle was purchased for its
other special capabilities such as on-board lighting and generators as well as its high
lift and 4-wheel drive capability during challenging road conditions such as minor
flooding or snow.
FP605 - Chief's Command Car

This 1992 Ford Crown Victoria is our command vehicle and is driven by the Chief
it contains some equipment for blocking streets but is mostly used for
command purposes.
Other Specialized Equipment

• 2 Portable Solar Powered LED Flashing Arrow Boards
• 1 Portable Solar Powered LED Programmable Message Board
• 2 Diesel Powered Flashing Arrow Boards
• Major Incident Trailer with generator and inside command area
Legacy Equipment
1367 - Retrired Summer 2006

This Dodge van was our first vehicle and served as our only vehicle until the purchase
of 1368 in 2004. While it was still a usable vehicle, different needs were realized and
the pickup truck was seen as a more viable option. It is still faithfully serving
Cherry Hill Township though as a fire investigation vehicle under the direction of
the Fire Marshal's Office.
FP605 - Retired Summer 2006

Our first Chief's car was donated by Cherry Hill Police. Used previously as the
Township's DARE car, it was given to CHFP in 2004. When newer vehicles
were purchased recently, the police department graciously donated a newer
vehicle to us in the form of the one shown above.
